Coffs Harbour Girls and Moree Boys Come Out on Top at Northern NSW Indigenous Football Festival.
Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) hosted its inaugural Indigenous Football Festival in Coffs Harbour yesterday.
The Festival was opened by an Indigenous Dance Group which was followed by a full day of football fixtures culminating in Semi Finals and Grand Finals.
The local Coffs Harbour girls side defeated Callaghan 2-0 in the Grand Final, with Callaghan also going down in the Boys Grand Final with a 7-0 defeat handed to the Newcastle side by Moree.
Almost 80 Indigenous boys and girls from Newcastle, Kempsey, Moree and Coffs Harbour formed nine teams which competed in the Festival.
The NNSWF Indigenous Football Festival will become an annual event for schools within Northern NSW with a view to growing the number of participants in future years.
